Washington: US President Joe Biden tested positive again for COVID-19, although he has no symptoms and is feeling “pretty good,” according to a statement from the White House doctor on Saturday.
Biden, who tested positive for the disease nine days ago but then tested negative twice earlier this week, will resume isolation procedures and his positive test will continue, according to White House physician Dr. Kevin, seen as the “rebound” positivity some COVID patients are experiencing O’Connor.
Biden’s positive test is believed to be a “rebound” positivity that some COVID patients are experiencing, according to the White House doctor.Recognition:
Biden tweeted about his positive case, saying it could happen to a “small minority of people.”
“I have no symptoms but I will isolate myself for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work and will be back soon,” he tweeted.
The positive test jeopardizes a Tuesday trip to Michigan that Biden had planned to promote the recent passage of legislation to boost the semiconductor industry that the White House announced earlier Saturday.
O’Connor said Biden, 79, has tested negative for the past four days and there is no plan to resume treatment as he has no symptoms.
Biden previously described his experience with COVID as mild and said he was able to continue working in isolation, attributing his relative ease with the disease to vaccines and other treatments.
O’Connor had previously said Biden would be tested regularly to look out for a possible “rebound” COVID-19 case that may occur in some patients treated with Paxlovid, the drug the president has been given became.
