US confronts China over corporate links to Russian war effort

The Biden administration has confronted the Chinese government with evidence suggesting that some Chinese state-owned companies may be supporting Russia’s war effort in Ukraine as it seeks to determine whether Beijing is aware of these activities, according to people familiar with the matter.

The people, who asked not to be identified to discuss private deliberations, declined to describe the assistance in detail other than to say it consists of non-lethal military and economic aid that existed prior to the full-scale evasion of the Sanctions regime imposed by the US and its allies on Russia Troops invaded Ukraine.
