Authorities found Gov. Kevin Stitt’s teenage son outside a Guthrie store last month intoxicated and in possession of multiple firearms, but he was not arrested or subpoenaed, according to a Logan County sheriff’s incident report.
According to the report, MPs were called to a Guthrie haunted house on October 31 after someone reported “firearms found” in the parking lot. After a box containing four firearms — two rifles and two pistols — was discovered in the parking lot, John Drew Stitt, the governor’s 20-year-old son, reached out to lawmakers and said the box belonged to him.
Stitt also said he was intoxicated and one of the guns belonged to his father.
“[Stitt’s]speech was slurred and his pupils were dilated,” said the report, first released by KOKH.
The governor’s office did not immediately comment.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office did not respond to a request for comment.
Officials questioned four other occupants of a black Dodge Ram that Stitt said he was driving. According to the report, one MP reported “the smell of alcoholic beverages emanating from the vehicle … (and) from her person”. No arrests were made.
“Then I asked him to call his father and ask him to pick up the firearms as he was clearly drunk and underage,” one MP noted in his report.
Stitt’s mother spoke to a deputy on the phone and told him a member of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol would come to Guthrie to get the guns, which they did.
The state trooper allowed one of the vehicle’s occupants, who did not appear to be intoxicated, to drive the truck back to Stillwater, which he was reportedly following.

The person who originally reported the box of firearms found said someone from Stitt’s truck “threw a can out of the vehicle and hit his vehicle,” according to the report.
In addition to the four firearms found in the box, officers also discovered a rifle under the back seat of the Dodge Ram truck.
A deputy confiscated alcohol from the truck and entered it into evidence at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
