Donald Trump bizarrely claimed his phone was hacked by the “radical left” while dialing into an evening prayer session with Roger Stone and Michael Flynn

  • Donald Trump claimed left forces broke his call to prayer with Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

  • Trump was abruptly cut off during the call. Guests sat in an awkward silence until Trump made contact again.

  • When Trump called again, he accused the “radical left” of cutting the connection with no evidence.

An online prayer session organized by a pro-Trump Christian group encountered technical difficulties. Ex-President Donald Trump, who was the guest of honor on the call, immediately blamed the “radical left”.

The Pastors For Trump National Prayer Call, held Monday, invited guests including Trump ally Roger Stone and retired General Michael Flynn, a Trump-era national security adviser, and Trump himself. A recording of the call was uploaded to YouTube on Monday.

Shortly after Trump joined the call, host Jackson Lahmeyer, who describes himself as a pastor and entrepreneur, asked him what specific prayer requests Trump had for the call’s pastors.

At this point, Trump’s audio was disconnected. Guests sat in awkward silence for a few minutes before Trump managed to reconnect to the call.

“Okay, I guess we have some misunderstandings on the phone. And I think what happened was that the radical left was working on the phone. There is no doubt about that,” Trump claimed, without providing any further evidence.

Speaking to The Daily Beast’s Zachary Petrizzo, Lahmeyer accused “trolls” of flooding the “backstage” of the call to prayer.

“Everything is frozen on our side,” Lahmeyer told The Daily Beast. “I think the system was overloaded with the number of viewers.”

Steven Cheung, Trump’s spokesman, did not respond to Insider’s question about whether there was evidence hackers were messing with the call when asked for comment.

The call to prayer was held to pray for Trump as he faces possible indictment in New York for paying hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump claimed without evidence in a Saturday Truth Social post that he would be arrested on Tuesday and urged his supporters to protest on his behalf.

During the call to prayer, Stone said Trump was the victim of an “armed trial” in which a “routine campaign finance violation” was used to unfairly attack him.

Stone has long been a Trump ally. He was present at Trump’s 2024 re-election announcement in November at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, which was attended by very few congressmen. He was also sentenced to 40 months in prison for making false statements and tampering with evidence in an investigation into Trump, a sentence that Trump commuted.

Michael Flynn, who was briefly Trump’s national security adviser, pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his communications with Russia. He was pardoned by Trump in 2020. Flynn is also known for his ties to the QAnon conspiracy theory and for promoting a wild, baseless theory that COVID-19 vaccines are being smuggled in salad dressings.

Flynn claimed during Monday’s call to prayer that Trump is saving the country from going down a “godless path.”

Cheung said of the appeal, “Millions of Americans are praying for President Trump because he is the only one standing in the way of radical, liberal prosecutors who abuse their power by targeting citizens they disagree with.”

Stone, Flynn and Lahmeyer did not immediately respond to insider requests for comment sent outside of regular business hours.
