Titans & Doom Patrol Ends Season 4, HBO Max Issues Statement

Two popular DC Comics dramas are coming to an end as HBO Max has announced the final seasons of both Titans and Doom Patrol.

Both shows will end with Season 4, which reportedly comes as no surprise to the series’ producers. Both shows, produced by Greg Berlanti, were developed for DC Universe and later made into HBO Max. Titans debuted in 2017 during its spin-off Doom Patrol arrived a year later.

“While these will be the last seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol, we’re very proud of these series and look forward to fans being able to see its climactic conclusion,” HBO Max said in a statement (per THR). “We are grateful to Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television for producing such exciting, action-packed and heartfelt series. We thank Titans Showrunner Greg Walker, Executive Producers Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, Richard Hatem and the Weed Road Pictures team. For Doom Patrolwe celebrate showrunner Jeremy Carver and executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, Chris Dingess and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson. For four seasons, fans have fallen in love with The Titans and Doom Patrol, invested in their trials and tribulations and in their legendary battles that continue to save the world.”

Doom Patrol Showrunner Jeremy Carver questioned the cancellation while also thanking the fans, cast and crew.

“To our wonderfully supportive partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and DC Studios, thank you for bringing us so much joy over the past four seasons. And what were you smoking?” Carver said, “To our brilliant cast, our indomitable crew, our fearless writing team, and most importantly, our wonderful fans: Thank you again. You made this a once in a lifetime ride.”

In the meantime, Titans Executive producer Greg Walker hopes the final six episodes will provide closure.

“I’m extremely proud of our talented cast, crew and writing team and their efforts in bringing all 49 episodes to life over the past 5+ years. I couldn’t have asked for better partners with Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television and HBO Max, and Geoff Johns and Akiva Goldsman from the start,” said Walker. “I am incredibly grateful for their unwavering trust throughout this process. Finally, I have to thank our incredible fans for their continued support, dedication, and the passionate community they’ve built around our show. We have six episodes left to unleash upon the world, which we hope will give our beloved characters the creative closure we all know they deserve.”
