Jalen Green took four strides without dribbling the ball and was not called out for a travel offense in the closing seconds of the Houston Rockets’ 119-114 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday night.
After Rudy Gobert’s dunk cut Houston’s lead to 116-112 with 12 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the Rockets played the ball from a time-out to Green and the young star made four steps and erased 1.9 seconds before Austin Rivers called for a foul.
In the replay, you can see Rivers pointing at Green’s feet as everyone but the officials seemed to see Green travel. Instead, Green took one of two free throws to effectively take the game out of range.
Had Green, who scored 41 points in the game, been called for a trip, the Timberwolves would have had the ball four points down with a chance to reduce the deficit to a point or two if there was still time on the clock.
