Person pulled out of burning Superior house

Jan. 14 – SUPERIOR – Workers from the Superior Fire Department rescued a person from a burning house in East Superior on Saturday (Jan. 14).

According to a news release, crews were dispatched to a building fire at 4721 E. 2nd St. at 5:46 p.m. and arrived to find a fire vent from the second floor and a report of one person still inside.

A search of the second floor located a victim who was taken to the front yard where life-saving measures were immediately taken. The victim was taken to an unnamed local hospital.

Crews spent three hours putting out the fire and investigating the cause, which has not yet been clarified. Damage to the structure is estimated at $60,000.

The Superior Police Department, Mayo Ambulance, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office helped.
