SEC with seven top 10 teams in preseason coaching survey

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (February 2, 2023)—–Seven Southeastern Conference baseball teams are ranked in the top-10 in the preseason US TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll released Thursday.

LSU is #1, followed by Tennessee at #2, Texas A&M at #4, Florida at #5, Arkansas at #6, Ole Miss at #7, and Vanderbilt at #9.

LSU is ranked #1 in all six major preseason polls. Four other SEC rosters — Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and South Carolina — are ranked in at least one preseason poll. Auburn and Alabama were the top two teams to receive votes not included in the preseason coaching poll.

The 2023 college baseball season begins the weekend of February 17th. The SEC led all conferences last season with five teams in the NCAA Super Regionals and four teams in the College World Series, while Ole Miss won the SEC’s third straight national title.
