The Minnesota Timberwolves certainly haven’t ruled out trading D’Angelo Russell, but he played well in December and January.
“He was a good offensive player for them,” Zach Lowe said on his podcast. “That sound sort of calmed me down. I know there are deals out there that they would do. I don’t think any teams have reached those deal points yet.”
Russell will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason after signing a four-year, $117 million deal with the Golden State Warriors during the 2019 offseason. Russell was subsequently traded to Wolves in 2020.
Russell is averaging 17.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 50 games this season.
