Even after last night’s 139-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets, reports say the Celtics are still in the market for a potential trade. No roster can ever be too complete, and depth at each position is critical to a long playoff run. The Celtics currently hold first place in the Eastern Conference with a 37-15 record. With the trade deadline just a week away, Boston are said to be keeping a close eye on a former player they drafted in 2013.
Utah Jazz big man Kelly Olynyk spent the first four seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics from 2013-2017. A recent report suggests that the Celtics are looking to reunite with the Celtic. Boston has been reported looking to increase frontcourt depth for a playoff run across the board.
Olynyk could return to the Celtics as an experienced player compared to when he started his career with the Green-Whites. Massachusetts sports betting sites have the Celtics (+400) winning the finals this season.

If the rumor is true, the Celtics have just one week to try and seal a trade
In 41 games played and started for the Utah Jazz this season, Kelly Olynyk averaged (11.7) points, (4.9) rebounds, (3.2) assists and (1.0) steals per game. In addition to the Celtics’ interest in Olynunk, another former team of his has eyed a potential trade for him.
The Miami Heat are also pursuing a potential trade for Olynyk, who has spent four seasons with the Heat. A league source offered his insight into what he believes is the reality of a team like Boston making a deal for the great man of jazz.
“Olynyk is a guy they have an interest in but I doubt that will happen.”… “Both teams that had Olynyk have an interest in getting him back but I don’t think that’s going to happen, just like I also don’t think (a move for San Antonio’s Jakob) will happen to Poeltl.” — Steve Bulpett
Jakob Poeltl is another name linked with the Celtics for over a month, but the Spurs don’t seem ready at this point to let go of one of the biggest parts of their franchise. A trade would need to happen next week if the Celtics are to add frontcourt depth before the trade deadline.
