Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has said he “can’t wait to get back on the field” after confirming his operation to remove his gallbladder was successful.
Conte has been diagnosed with cholecystitis – an inflammation of the gallbladder – and is likely to miss Sunday’s home game against Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Italian took to social media late on Wednesday to thank fans for their “nice news”, adding that he was looking forward to returning to the pitch with the team.
“Thank you for your lovely messages, my surgery went well and I’m already feeling better,” he wrote.
“Now it’s time to recover. I can’t wait to get back on the field with the team.”
Spurs’ game against City is the first of five games this month. They also face Leicester City (11 February), West Ham (19 February) and Chelsea (26 February) in La Liga, while they meet AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 (14 February).
