It’s NFL Week 4 and it’s going to be an interesting one. There are many great matchups including a very early game from London, England between the Vikings and Saints. I will avoid this game to give you more time to build your optimal lineups with my bargain suggestions. This allows you to fill the rest of your rosters with high-priced options.
Quarterbacks:
Aaron Rodgers ($7,400) against the New England Patriots
Rodgers has thrown two touchdowns in consecutive weeks. It seems he’s gelling with rookie wideout Romeo Doubs and the other young reception options. We could be in line this week to see an old Rodgers game against the New England Patriots defense, which ranks 26th against quarterbacks. The Patriots just conceded five touchdowns to Lamar Jackson, and four of them went through the air. Expect another multi-touchdown game for Rodgers this week.
Cooper Rush ($6,400) vs. Washington Commanders
The Cowboys backup quarterback did a good job replacing injured Dak Prescott. The Cowboys are 2-0 with Rush as the starter. Although he has yet to throw for more than one touchdown in a game, Rush is entering his third straight game as a starter in a favorable matchup. The Cowboys are expected to have both Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz back this week. That gives Cooper Rush his full line of pass catchers vs. defense at number 28 vs. quarterbacks.
Previous race:
Najee Harris ($7,000) vs. New York Jets
Harris was disappointing for fantasy managers in the first three weeks. He has shown improvement in production every week prior to week 4. The quarterback game in Pittsburgh was underwhelming. Luckily, the Steelers face the New York Jets, who are ranked 26th against the running back position. Take advantage of Harris’ budget-friendly pricing while you can. This is his week to shine.
Javonte Williams ($6,900) with the Las Vegas Raiders
Williams has yet to score a touchdown this season, which could be the reason he’s $6,900 on FanDuel. Volume wasn’t the issue as Williams has averaged 17.3 touches per game this season. For all great players it’s only a matter of time before they have this amazing giveaway and this matchup sets the stage. The Las Vegas Raiders are ranked 30th against running backs. They allowed Darrel Williams to rush for 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 with just eight carries. Javonte Williams’ first touchdown of the season will come this week.
Wide receiver:
Curtis Samuel ($6,200) with the Dallas Cowboys
How is Samuel still rated at a value? He’s had double-digit goals in every game this season paired with double-digit fantasy points. The Dallas Cowboys are playing competitive football despite Prescott’s absence. Carson Wentz and the Commanders must face the Cowboys. The Dallas defense is the top-8 against running backs and middle of the road against wideouts. There’s no reason for Samuel not to see 10 goals in his fourth straight game.
Noah Brown ($5,600) vs. Washington Commanders
time to stack. Brown was the surprise producer for the Cowboys to start the season. Not only has he kept up with CeeDee Lamb’s production, but Brown has played 85 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. Cooper Rush has heavily targeted Brown in the last two games. Noah Brown has 145 receiving yards and one touchdown in that span. The Washington Commanders have yielded the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season.
Short end:
Tyler Conklin ($5,400) with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Conklin is the TE3 on the way into Week 4. Among tight ends, Conklin ranks second with 24 targets and is #2 in receptions with 18 targets. It’s rare to get a tight end at this price point without it being dependent on a touchdown. Conklin gives you safe ground with its volume alone. Joe Flacco will air it against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have been an underperforming defense against tight ends this year.
Defense:
Green Bay Packers Defense ($5,000) vs. New England Patriots
Sometimes you just have to pay for defense when the matchup is too good. Although $5,000 is hardly going to break the bank, especially when you’re saving a ton of budget for these value picks I’ve rounded up for you. New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones suffered a serious sprained ankle last week and is expected to miss time. Jones is yet to be ruled out but it would be a small miracle to see him on the field this week. This leaves the Patriots with Brian Hoyer, who will soon be 37, for this offensive. The Packers held Tom Brady and the Buccaneers for 271 passing yards and a touchdown last week.
