Sony has confirmed that the game library will be removed from the PlayStation Plus Collection on May 9th, 2023. The 19 PS4 games that currently make up the collection on PS5 consoles can still be redeemed before they are removed and will remain in your library and playable as long as you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
The PlayStation Plus Collection was launched alongside the launch of the PS5 as a nice bonus (or incentive) for gamers. At release, it contained a total of 20 games up to individual 5 was removed from the lineup back in May 2022. Sony’s Jim Ryan explained at the time that they would wait and see how the PS Plus collection was received by players before making any decisions on expanding the roster.

It seems Sony won’t be expanding the collection after all, especially given that PS Plus subscribers already have larger collections of games available across the various tiers on offer, with the highest tier offering access to classic PS1, PS2 and PS3 catalogues (Streaming only) Titles from throughout PlayStation history.
The 19 games currently available in the PlayStation Plus collection include God of War, Fallout 4, Mortal Kombat X, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Ratchet and Clank (2016), Days Gone, Until Dawn, Detroit: Become Human, Battlefield 1, Notorious Second Son, Batman: Arkham Knight, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Bloodborne and World of Monster Hunters.
Subscribers have until May 9th to add these titles to their library, and they’ll still be accessible after everything is removed, provided you have an active PS Plus subscription.
The PlayStation Plus collection had potential at launch as many gamers waited to see if this was Sony’s answer to Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case as new games were never added to the library. It’s been a nice incentive for PS5 buyers – especially those new to Sony’s ecosystem – but it seems like the PS Plus tiers are the company’s priority right now.
