Nintendo is looking for unofficial Splatoon smartphone apps

When it comes to smartphone apps for Splatoon fans, Nintendo wants to make sure the only option available is the official release of SplatNet 3.

Reports are coming in that Nintendo is pursuing multiple developers behind various third-party Splatoon smartphone apps. These developers are receiving cease and desist letters, which has led to the closure of apps.

For example, the smartphone apps salmdroidNW, Salmonia3+ and ikawidget3 are now unavailable, either having received a cease and desist letter from Nintendo or having been discontinued in advance due to concerns that a contact from Nintendo was in progress. Why Nintendo bans these apps was not explained in detail.
