best games for playstation vr2
The Virtual Reality Headset for PS5 is now available and we review the most recommended titles to immerse yourself in incredible worlds and live unique experiences.
PlayStation VR2 is available in Spain and the rest of the world starting February 22. The virtual reality headset for PlayStation 5 is accompanied by around thirty games, some new and others adapted from other platforms and its predecessor, the PS4 to PS VR Glasses. That figure will grow exponentially throughout 2023, so the following list of the 10 best titles for the device will change over the coming months. Still, all propositions are interesting: they lead to fantastic worlds, they relive familiar situations in unique ways, they design mechanics for virtual reality and they allow you to experience unique sensory sensations. .
gran turismo 7
Gran Turismo 7 gets the same treatment on PlayStation VR2 as DriveClub VR and Gran Turismo Sport got via a free update to PS VRonce all GT7 owners can play it in virtual reality, with all its progress and all its modes Together. The special thing is that this time the result has been excellent. The Polyfoy Digital Driving Simulator is an immersive experience like no other, turning familiar moments into spectacular situations, like tight overtaking or a sharp drop. And if you have a steering wheel and some pedals it will blow your mind.
resident evil village
Seeing Lady Dimitrescu raise her head is terrifying, as are many other moments in Capcom’s VR action-horror adventure. Resident Evil 8: The Village can be played on PS VR2 with a free update to the original game that unlocks this mode, with progression separate from the rest of the title. There are moments that remain awkward, especially some cinematographic sequences in which the protagonist moves from side to side while we remain motionless. For the rest, this is an adaptation worthy of applause: the horror is raised to the nth degree and the gameplay acquires a new dimension thanks to the realistic use of weapons.
mountain horizon call
The PlayStation VR2 launch flagship title takes us to the universes of Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West, but instead of controlling Aloy, we put ourselves in the place of Rias, a legendary climber and archer. With this premise, a spectacular platform adventure is presented, a technological delirium that immerses us more than ever in a world of living nature and mechanical creatures. We will spend most of the game climbing through scenarios that will leave one speechless, but there is also no shortage of confrontations where we will have to defeat giant robotic beasts with our bow.
pistol whip
Do you remember those crazy moments from the John Wick movies where the choreographed punches and gunshots mix with the music? That’s the feeling that Pistol Whip achieves, and you’re a hero. It’s an arcade shooter on rails where the objective is to defeat enemies that come in their own minimalist and colorful levels, full of holes and verticality, all to the beat of a powerful soundtrack. Thus, each game is a wild choreography that we hone after each attempt.
Tetris Effect: Connected
The idea behind the Tetris Effect is based on the effect that gives the game its name, the illusion of the eye that causes some people to see tetrominos in the world after a long session of Tetris playing. Enhance and Tetsuya Mizuguchi have been interested in synthetic experiences for decades, and this is what the game in question aims for (and achieves). Tetris Effect: Connected puts us in a difficult position to describe as a mix of gameplay, music, colorful effects and hypnotic backgrounds. Plus, it’s a great Tetris game, and it has full multiplayer with crossplay (the title is also available on flat screens). which makes it infinite.
rez infinity
Back to Tetsuya Mizuguchi. The Japanese creative surprised the PlayStation 2 era with Rage, a colorful, abstract and intense rail shooter where they experimented with synesthesia. Rez Infiniti is an adaptation of the virtual reality of the work in which it combines stages designed one hundred percent for this technology. The result is a unique, immersive title that on PS VR2 achieves even greater immersion because we can shoot enemies just by looking at them.
Moss and Moss II
Quill has become one of the stars of virtual reality. And not for less. Little Mouse stars in two adventures developed by Polyarch that are fabulous, figuratively and literally. Both Moss and Moss: Book II tell us a beautiful fantasy story that leads the lesser hero to crush enemies and solve tons of puzzles in detailed environments. We see it all from an aerial perspective as if we were looking at a diorama full of details.
sure lie
More music, more arcade, but this time around with a very different tone from the similar games we’ve discussed. Thumper is also psychedelic, aggressive and terrifying. We control a kind of beetle that moves through a circuit in which you have to avoid obstacles, skid and push yourself towards the head of a strange creature that is in the background. The environment revolves around us, we work at full speed and music surrounds everything; Our body disconnects from reality, and reality is consumed by the intoxicating feel of the thumper.
the last clockwinder
The Last Clockwinder is one of the most original puzzle games you’ll ever play, in or out of VR. The mission is to repair the Clock Tower, the last refuge of all plant species in the galaxy. For this, we have the watchmaker’s glove, a device that allows us to create clones of ourselves that perform the tasks we have taught them to do. Thus, we will be able to create a series of clones that perform irrigation and pruning, among many other surprising functions and special conditions.
Net
Virtual reality has put guns, bows, swords, bats and a lot of other weapons in our hands. But why do we always have hands when we play in first person on this technology? This is the premise of Tentacular: we don’t have hands, but tentacles that trap everything, and from there a colorful game with insane physics is created, full of puzzles, action, adventure, and most of all Lots of humor.
