After earning seven pony points, players are given the opportunity to sleep in the stables’ more expensive Malanya beds – special beds that provide Link with extra stamina and health once he wakes up. These beds not only boost Link’s stats, but Malanya will also give mysterious messages to Link in his sleep.

There are eight mysterious messages that Malanya will give players that are worth investigating, most of which lead to the best horses in the game. It is worth noting that you do not need to open Malanya’s beds to start these quests. Furthermore, you can sleep in Malanya beds as many times as you want to continue receiving these messages.

Once Malanya is discovered, she will start giving messages about the food you need to upgrade your horses. Those messages are almost unnecessary though, as you are able to take care of what food you need while visiting Malanya. So, here are Malanya’s most notable messages, along with the coordinates of each of the places he mentioned and any additional details that might help make your journey a little easier.

Guidelines and Additional Details

“I am Malanya…the god of horses…who gives sharp hooves…and thick skin. In northeast Hyrule…near a stable in Akkala…I am waiting.”

4294, 3210, 0151

Start at the former Akkala Stables (4235, 2740, 0126) and head north to find Malanya in a great fairy bud. Malanya can revive and upgrade horses in exchange for specific food.

“At Hyrule Ridge…above the Thunder Plateau…there is a Dragon Tree. There, many excellent horses…roam wild and free.”

These horses roam the highlands northwest of the Thundra Plateau (-2270, 0904, 0109). Tabantha Bridge Stable (-2919, 0546, 0169) is the nearest stable to register them.

“On the boundary separating Necluda’s east from its west … there is a place called Bubinga Forest. There, many excellent horses … roam wild and free.”

Horses roam the fields at the southwest end of the forest. Darker horses usually have the best stats, but you’ll need about two full stamina wheels to pacify them. Dueling Peaks Stables (1749, -1921, 0010) is the closest stables to register them.

“In the Pharaoh Grasslands…there is a place called Zokasa Ridge. There, many excellent horses…roam wild and free.”

Several groups of horses roam the highlands west of Highland Stables (0520, -3443, 0047). Once again, darker horses usually have better stats. Bring them to Highland Stables to register them.

“Once in a century…a golden horse is born. You can find it by going to…Snowfield Stables in the northwest.”

This horse is part of the “Zelda’s Golden Horse” side-quest that you can take from Penn at Snowfield Stable (-1643, 2567, 0234) when you get the Lucky Clover Gazette (-3252, 1769, 0119). You cannot register the golden horse until you bring it to Snowfield Stables in Harlow to complete the quest.

“To the south… in the pharaoh’s area… find the lake of the horse god. There, a huge horse… white… has left its mark.”

0801, -3719, 0080

Giant white horse roaming a circular field in the valleys of Ibarra Butte. You’ll need two full stamina wheels to calm it down. Take it to Highland Stable (0520, -3443, 0047) to register it. This horse may be slow, but it has unlimited stamina, making it one of the best horses in the game.

“At night, it appears…the Stalhorse…running over the darkness. You can see it in the field…at the base of Mount Satori.”

-1676, -0700, 0125

The Stalhorse can only be found at night and is usually on the west side of the Sanidin Park Ruins (-1642, -0684, 0138) on the hills below it. Unlike every other horse in the game, it cannot be registered in a stable. However, it must be brought to Tofa at the Outskirts Stables (-1437, -1265, 0032) in order to advance the side-quest “The Horse Guard’s Request”. Be aware that at sunrise, the Stalhorse will disappear.

“In southeast Pharaoh…in the stables by the lake…dondons graze. These ancient creatures, ancestors of horses…can make…precious gems from…stone.”

Dondons can be found near the border north of the ravine from the Lakeside Stables (1553, -3525, 0061). Place the glowing stones on the ground and let the donoids eat them. Leave for a while and come back later to see that the creatures have turned them into random gems.
