There are several heroes in Diablo 4 that you can choose from, with each class offering a unique play style due to its mechanics. While you may “main” a particular character, you can still try out others to see what they bring to the table. Here is our Diablo 4 Class Hub guide to help you with the different heroes you can choose from.
Diablo 4 Class Hub – Playable classes and their gameplay mechanics
There are currently five Diablo 4 classes that we know of. These are Barbarian, Rogue, Sorcerer, Necromancer and Druid. Each has unique mechanics that allow for varied gameplay, namely their skills (i.e., abilities that can be activated), talents (i.e., passives), and specific quirks to make them stand out.
Magician
The Diablo 4 Sorcerer is your traditional sorcerer. This character harnesses the power of the elements, burning enemies with fire, freezing them with ice, or zaps them with lightning. The class also makes use of the enchantment mechanics, where active skills can be equipped for passive boons.
Wild
Everyone loves the Barbarian, a staple of the Diablo series. They charge headlong into ferocious combat, leaping down to crush opponents and screaming at the top of their lungs with their warts. Barbarians use the Weapon Arsenal mechanic where their abilities require a specific type of weapon (i.e., Slicing, Bludgeoning, Two-Handed, and so on). They can freely swap their weapons to activate and cycle through different attacks.
Wicked
Rogues are your nominal dexterity-based class, nimble and agile, running fast to evade attacks or strike when least expected. Rogues offer a mix of both melee and ranged expertise, similar to characters from previous games such as Amazons and Demon Hunters. In addition, the Inumination mechanic lets them make attacks with poison, cold, or shadow damage.
necromancer
Necromancers tend to be fan-favorites for longtime Diablo fans. This is partly due to his background in lore (i.e., he is a priestess of Rathma), and his strength. Chief among these is a means of raising undead minions, exploding corpses, and harnessing the powers of bone and poison. Diablo 4 Necromancer will become available during the open beta, which will run from March 24 to 27.

Druid
The Diablo 4 Druid is a hybrid class. On the one hand, they can be a bit mesmerizing, as their communication with nature lets them call upon the elements. On the other hand, they can also shapeshift into ferocious beasts, tearing apart enemies that get too close. Similar to Necromancer, Druid will also become playable during the open beta.

Diablo 4 is currently in its beta phase. Therefore, some of the information provided here may change as we get closer to the game’s official launch on June 6th. We’ll update this guide accordingly.
