BRIDGEVIEW, IL (CBS) – Ahead of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, volunteers gathered in the southwestern suburb of Bridgeview on Saturday to help tackle food insecurity.
The non-profit organization Islamic Relief USA hosted the event in the Mosque Foundation’s communal kitchen.
Volunteers packed boxes and boxes of groceries — full of rice, pasta, flour and over a dozen other items.
Islamic Relief USA’s mission is to help people in need – regardless of religion, race or gender.
