Dunesis Oscar Isaac and Spider-Man: No Coming Home star Andrew Garfield is considering roles in Guillermo del Toro Frankenstein.
Fresh off another Oscar triumph – thanks to Pinocchioof the award for Best Animated Feature – the Mexican filmmaker is finally fulfilling his dream of adapting the cornerstone of the sci-fi genre from Mary Shelley.
The envelope reports that preparation is underway on the film, with Netflix on board to finance and distribute, while rising star Mia Goth (Overflowing swimming pool) is also attached.

Neither Isaac nor Garfield’s characters are known at this time – the former would no doubt kill him off as a reanimated monster, however – but Goth is presumed to play Dr. Frankenstein’s love interest Elizabeth Lavenza .
As for the setting of the adaptation, it’s all a guessing game, but we’d like del Toro’s deliciously macabre aesthetic to attack the book’s late 18th-century period.

THE Hellboy And Pan’s Labyrinth director previously told BBC Radio’s Simon Mayo: “Frankenstein is the dream of my life, one of the primitive books of my life, one of the primitive monsters of my own mythology. I really hope I can do that.”
Regular collaborator Doug Jones (who gave us the Amphibian Man in The shape of water) was at one point going to play the iconic creature.
“I’m in no rush. I want to test [the make-up]develop it perfectly,” added del Toro.
“If I shoot in five years, in six years, that’s fine with me. You have a chance in your life to do these things and I don’t want to do it the wrong way.”
